
Cumberland, MD— The National Fire Heritage Center (NFHC) is now accepting article submissions for Issue No. 2 of The Fire Heritage Review, the peer‑reviewed journal dedicated to documenting, preserving, and interpreting the history of the American fire and emergency services.
Following the successful launch of the inaugural issue, the Fire Heritage Review continues its mission to expand the historical record of fire protection, fire service culture, emergency management, and related public safety fields. Scholars, fire service professionals, historians, archivists, students, and researchers are invited to contribute original work that advances the study of America’s fire heritage.
Topics of Interest
Submissions may explore a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to:
- Fire department history at the local, regional, or national level
- Significant incidents, innovations, or turning points in fire protection
- Biographical studies of fire service leaders
- Fire apparatus, equipment, and technological development
- Emergency management and civil defense history
- Cultural, social, or community dimensions of the fire service
- Archival, preservation, or museum practices related to fire heritage
Interdisciplinary and comparative studies are also welcome.
